The new sixth form hub for DESC opened its doors to the students in October 2017. It is the first of its kind in the Middle East and can accommodate up to 500 six formers. Chill-out lounges, study rooms and a top lit food court flank garden courtyards providing green views and daylight in all directions. A wellness centre, yoga studio, counsellor and careers areas are positioned around a zen courtyard providing a place of respite for the students.

GBHK were lucky enough to work with the interior design company, Lulie Fisher Design Studios and Lighting design practice, Visual Energy to supply the lighting package for the entire project. The light and airy space required lighting with clean lines that complimented the architecture whilst providing the required amount of light for the students. The multiple break out spaces provided a fun element in order for the students to feel relaxed whilst still being engaged in study discussions.
