Showcase are a large London fit out contractor and their new home is a grade two listed space at the iconic Smithfield market, designed by Victorian architect Sir Horace Jones in the 19th century, on a site that dates back to the 10th century, it is simply the dominant architectural feature of the area
GBHK were commissioned to light this unique space and due to the very low-pitched ceiling and beams the idea was to highlight the features in the ceiling to create an airy space whilst hiding as much of the cabling as possible.
Special radius custom profiles were used to mirror the curve of the seating and an oversized magnetic circular track system with direct and indirect lighting was used to light the architectural domed tower.
The dome tower is used to select fabrics by the interior designers for their ongoing projects and therefore the CRI of the LED lights had to be very high to get the true to life colour renders and textures correct.
